Your role

As a Senior Accountant / General Ledger, we are looking for a versatile and dedicated individual with a keen eye for detail. Join our open and welcoming 10-person finance team at Sunday Group and work closely with our Head of Finance and our CFO. 

• You will oversee and manage the general ledger and control automatically generated outgoing invoices in our ERP system Odoo
• You will lead the preparation of monthly financial statements and support the annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB), ensuring that all balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and provisions are completed correctly, independently, and on time
• You will be responsible for preparing advance VAT returns and coordinating with external tax advisors and financial authorities
• You will manage the fixed asset register, including asset reconciliation, depreciation calculations, and asset disposals
• You will create and reconcile intercompany invoices and payments, ensuring proper intercompany accounting, monthly reconciliations, and adjustments
• You will support budgeting processes and financial reporting, working closely with the CFO and management to provide accurate reports on revenue, expenses, and forecasts
• Experience with handling international tax issues (e.g., UK, Poland, Switzerland, Czech Republic) is a plus
• You will actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth flow of information and help optimize internal accounting and finance processes

Your profile

• An apprenticeship preferably as an Accountant, Tax Clerk, or a commercial degree, as well as at least 5 years of professional experience in Accounting/Finance
• A sound understanding of the German Accounting Principles (HGB), as well as user knowledge of Excel and ERP systems
• You work in a structured, careful, and proactive manner and can integrate well into an existing team
• You are very interested in the digitalisation and automation of our finance processes
• You thrive in a dynamic scale-up environment and are motivated by the challenges of working in a growing company with international focus
• You are located in Berlin or nearby, speak good German as well as English (B2 level)
